The coordination of international cooperation in the Kingdom of Sweden is quite developed and multifaceted.
Effective international cooperation is often impossible without coordination: “The conference was aimed at helping developing countries in their efforts to develop trade strategies for development, integrate them into national poverty reduction strategies and strengthen donor country coordination” [1].
This point is constantly emphasized in Government reports: “Sweden took an active part in the negotiations that led in November 2007 to the conclusions of the Council on the need for more transparent coordination and cooperation in the field of EU security and development policy and on consistent actions regarding what is called “Fragile situations” ”[2].
In this sense, coordination is a requirement of life: “An analysis of the state-oriented policy regarding Sweden’s contribution to the Soviet Socialist Republic has led Sweden to act in a coordinated manner when conducting joint operations under the auspices of the Soviet Socialist Republic” [3].
The importance of coordination in international cooperation is constantly emphasized.
This kind of coordination is especially promising within the UN and other organizations.
Thus, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA), the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and regional and subregional organizations should be more involved in political life [4].
Another example: “NATO’s standardization organization has also begun cooperation and coordination of civil standardization activities” (Swedish cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) [5].
